Great news. I got offered a contract for A Lady's Pleasure from LSB. I'm really stunned at how fast it went. On the other hand, I'm still struggling with my paranormal Burning. My respect for writers who do the whole "worldbuilding" thing has increased tenfold. These books are a lot more complicated than contemporaries or even historicals. I've thought about abandoning the project several times, but I really love the characters, and I have put so much time in already that I just want to finish it.

Subbed A Lady's Pleasure yesterday. I hope they will like it. I always hate the wait to hear back whether it's accepted or rejected. Oh, well. Back to work on Burning. I've actually had some new ideas. I'll have to go back and redo some previous chapters, but I like the direction it's going now.

I can hardly believe it but I finished my historical novella A Lady's Pleasure today. It's right at 30,000 words. I wrote the whole thing in about two weeks. Seriously, I've never written a book so fast. It practically wrote itself. I really like this length, too. It's much more manageable than longer books, though I know many people wouldn't really consider 60,000 long. lol! I'm going to spend a few days editing it and refining it, though I did a bit of that as I wrote. I should get it subbed by the end of next week at the latest. In addition, I have some ideas for a couple of sequels to A Lady's Pleasure. Maybe I've discovered the genre that fits me best. We'll see if it gets accepted. I think it's good, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is good.

I decided to try my hand at writing a historical romance. I have to confess that I tend to switch genres a lot. I'm not sure if I just haven't found my niche, or if, as with my reading, I won't settle on a single one. Anyway, I started a few days ago with a novella I'm calling A Lady's Pleasure, and I've already gotten over 8000 words. I don't think I've ever written anything so fast or had so much fun with a story. My only concern is, since I want it to be only 20000 to 25000 words long, that I am able to develop a believable relationship between the couple. Oh, well. We'll see. lol!

I am currently working on a new book that I am very excited about. It is a vampire paranormal romance tentatively titled Burning. It will hopefully be the first book in a series I am calling All-American Vampires because all of the vampires in the stories were American when first turned. No old-worlde vamps for me. lol! The main characters in the first book are named Olivia and Jared. I am about halfway through Chapter 10 right now, and believe me, they are having quite a time of it.
